Industrial design is the look and form of the product, integrating both ergonomics and function. With function being equal, everyone prefers to buy something a more stylish product. This depends on the type of product and sometimes style doesn't come into the equation, but if both function and form are required, then the product's form must be at it's best. An integrated design is where the function and form are inter-related, where each exists due to the other. If this can be achieved with simplicity and elegance, then we consider this a successful design.
