FEA Case Study: Solving

FEA solving - time to sit back and relax(!)
After completion of pre-processing, the FEA model is complete and the next step is to solve the model. Solve lengths vary upon model complexity, number of elements and the type of analysis. Models that are non-linear or utilise contact need to reach convergence and hence keep looping until the convergence criteria is met. The wheel and tyre model contains nearly 200,000 elemnets, but since it's a one-shot linear static, solve time was relatively quick at about 15-20 minutes. The speed of your computer dictates the solve time.
